Regular Custom or Custom 8 sounds like what you want.
A Custom Custom would likely get mushy. A Custom 5 might get mushy, but would still be pretty good.

i sure wouldnt use the cc and would lean toward the custom
I have used and liked the Custom in the past but that was tuned down 1 step to D... I'm intrigued by the Custom 5...

Full Shred

The Custom will work all the way down to A, as will the Custom 8.
"Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished." Isaiah 13:16
"Kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves." Numbers 31:17-18

Start with a Custom, then by an A8 and A5 magnet. Try all three
Frankencaster: SM-3n Seymourized Mini, Norton
Schecter C1+: 59n, Custom UOA5, Triple Shots
Cruise Strat: EMG 58
Peavey XXX 40efx head
Blackstar HT-5Rh
Genz-Benz Tribal 2x12 cab w/ Eminence Private Jacks
Crybaby, Earthquaker Tone Reaper, MXR Classic OD, Boss SD-1 stacked mod, Hardwire Tuner, Ditto Delay, Hardwire RV-5, BBE Supa Charger

The Custom 5 is one of my favorite bridge pickups. I have them in two of my Les Pauls so they definitely work well in mahogany guitars. The custom is also a good pickup for metal. The custom custom didn't work well for me. I liked it when playing clean but with the crunch on it wasn't working. It got a bit ice picky and the bottom was too soft and flabby. I had two Custom Customs that I switched to A5 mags which makes them a Custom5. I used the Custom Custom in the neck position of my LP for over 20 years.

CC-bad
C5-good
C-best!

Out of the three Customs that you listed, I'd definitely choose the C8.

I have a Custom in my Les Paul and my band tunes to drop c. Works just fine.

the ceramic custom is the desert island pickup for me. I love it stock or as a hybrid. The C8 is wonderful too
Custom is brutal and aggressive yet clear under gain. Palm mutes and power chords are massive. Tight and very punchy sound
C8 is more balanced and much warmer. Has a smooth buttery tone. It is very dynamic and the harder you play it the harder it gets and the softer you play the more subtle it sounds.
My favorite is the Custom/jb hybrid with the ceramic mag from the custom
I just love the custom pickup in general. People use so many varieties of that one pickup and it always sounds good.
For C# tuning, Custom would be first choice, though the Full Shred would also be nice if you need a ton of definition.

CC sounds absolutely amazing in my 1980's ESP Horizon. Nails Judas Priest tones.
