it definately has a hear-able change in character. it's more even. come on.. you know we all want some palm mutes floyd overkill hehe, nice. great harmonics

Not really increased, the pickup is just more balanced now.

well, i was kinda drawn to it from the start, but then opted for the 59 instead..

next pups i'm geting my hands on is either a full shred set or a JB/59 set (again LOL - but i think i'll go out of my way and get the mags replaced by A2 ones)

Actually I have the APH-1 with an A5 now, love that one more than my 59n.
More balanced, but it is just a question of finding the 59's right guitar.

Rid! You have no idea how much you just scared the crap outta me. I left the volume on my speakers cranked and forgot about it. Then I streamed the clip and left to do something real quick (takes me a while to stream clips sometimes, so I take a break ). Well, I come back and start putting my guitar away and........BAM! BIG HUGE A CHORD!!! And then I got frantic like a lunatic, "Who's there?! Who's playing that?! Show yourself!" And then I was like, "Hey, that sounds pretty good. ...HEY! That's Rid, no wonder it sounds good."

Hehe, anyway, I really dug the clip. The tone is so FAT, yet clear! I'm an A2 lover myself. Just simply delicious tone.

Funny, I tried that when I had my 59b and did not like it. After many trial, I finally came to the conclusion that I prefer A5 or ceramic PUs in the bridge and A2 PUs in the neck. The A2 bidge lack too much tighness for my taste. Stangely, when I hear you or Marinblues, I love your tone... go figure. As if my ears were different when I play and when I listen to someone else.

And Davey, I also tried the 59n with an A2 and it did nothing for me. I have to say that I have yet to find a neck PU that I like. The Pearly Gates was cool, but I don't know if it worths the higher price tag.
