While my wife was shopping I stumbled into guitar center. I spotted a familiar looking guitar in the used rack. A red epiphone HSS from the late 80's. the same model and color of the guitar i used to sneak and play whole my older brother was away when I was about 10. I had to play it. Love it! Bought it $200.

Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

Like to find some more info about it. Plays REALLY well. I am quite happy. Sounded good too. Love the on/off toggles for each pickup and coil split on the HB.

^^ Same here. Should be a good 20-25 years old, late 80s-early 90s.

They looked (and still look) kinda cool (DUH, it`s not , like, trying to copy a Jackson or anything ). Enjoy it

But the trem is...well... "slightly" sub-par. Block it, lock it, forget it, but don`t try to use it much.

Waitaminute... Didn't you say that *any* trem would stay in tune if it was set up properly? I'd say that beauty deserves a proper setup. Baby wants to dive bomb!

My brother went to college in '91 so he had this model a few years before that.

I remember him complaining the guitar being out of tune whenever I'd played it. So the trem must be sub par. Not a problem. Seems like its been blocked. Sustain is great with this thing. I'm still out of town won't get to play it at Homs for another day.

And I stand by that. It can be made to work... for 20 minutes until the knife edges wear out. And then it gets blocked, locked , and forgotten. Or replaced with something that deserves to be called a trem.

Hmm, little brother sneaking in and abusing my guitars while I`m not there, and they`re out of tune when I get home..... Yeah, gotta be the trem, can`t possibly be anything else

Those Korean vibrato bridges were generic across numerous budget guitar brands of the Eighties. Measure the distance between the pivot posts. Find out if anything else will fit. If not, take Zerb's advise and block it.
