Default ENGL 50 - What kind of amp is?

I should say that I already have one. It is a Engl 50 thunder (a combo with a 12'' speaker).

In a very unprecise way it is possible to describe an amp saying how it compares to a Fender, a Marshall or a Mesa-Bogie. Since I have never tried any of the previous I couldn't say if a Fender will be clear/treblier than mine or a Marshall will be darker/smoother. I just would like to learn a bit more about those classics knowing how they compare with my amp.

I'm not sure I (or anyone else?) understands the question. I think what you're asking is to what amp(s) does the Thunder compare? I'd bet that the OD channel is voiced like a hot-rodded Marshall and the clean channel is voiced like a Fender.
