Exclamation Eminence Patriot and redcoat speakers

Sorry about all these questions regarding speakers ive been asking recently but ive decided to go for eminence since there so much cheaper then celestion. Ive been looking at their new line of speakers and theres so many i cant make a decision without thinking "but what bout this combination?" and other things along those lines.

Anyone whos tried or owns speakers from eminences new line if you could give us a short review of em itd be appreciated. Im a hardrock player but i dont wanna go the normal route when it comes to a hard rock sound, like for example i could probably go for four governors and im sure thatd sound good but man how many people out there play with V30's and Governors are based on them and i dont wanna sound anything like the radio and yeh any experiences with any speakers in the new eminence range if you could share your thoughts it would be appreciated.

Well for what it's worth, I just got an Eminance Cannibus Rex to use with my Peavey CLassic 30. I've tried about 5 differant speakers and although they all had differant tonal qualities they all shared one thing in common-the "ice pick to the ear syndrom", but a lot of that had to do with the Peaveys OD channel. The Cannibux Rex is the first speaker I've tried that significantley reduced the ice pick effect. I noticed it immediatley. It's still there but not quite as pronounced and as a result the high end seems to have a bit more definition. The mid's are smooth and the bass is tight. I've had it for about 3 days now and of what I'm told it takes about a good week to break it in because the hemp cone is a much stiffer material. My guess would be if you have an amp where the highs need to be tamed a bit this one would probably work for you. Hope this helped a bit.

There's a detailed review of each speaker in the new Guitar Player. The one with Dimebag Darrell on the cover. GP reviews them all. Worth the price of the mag if you're considering a new speaker.

I use Celestions...but with the recent move of most of the Celestion production to a country with hideous human rights policies (China), I'm all for looking at something new and differant... especially since the Eminence line is made in the USA by people who actually make a living doing what they do for thier day gig.

I have not tried these newest Eminence speakers but my brother Bruce has and says they are excellant...though they do not sound exactly the same as the Celestion models they emulate. Pick up the newest GP...read all about them.

Thanks for your help that thread is really informative. Has anyone tried the new speakers that have been added to the redcoat series? If you check the eminence website youll see theres a few new speakers including one called the wizard which eminence say is a cross between the governor and the private jack sounds very kewl imo.
