the saddles (strat vintage) have short pegs, so i cant raise the action as high as it should be. im not complaining, but it should be higher, ya know for better bends. it wasnt too bad modding the pickguard. it was a pain in the neck soldering though. (that small box on the back of the guitar) i kept bumping the iron into other wires and nearly melting through sheilds. i got it first try though. the strat took two. i tell ya, i really need to take a soldering 101 class. it took me WAY too long. the pups sound great though. i havent had much time to play with them. the package came yesterday and after installing the pups, i had 20 minutes to get ready for work.

oh yeah, im having trouble setting the intonation. the neck has a 9.5 radius and the guitar is 24 3/4” scale. does that have any thing to do with my problem? the low e saddle will be screwed back as far as possible, pushing the other saddles over to the side, and still be sharp. i ended up losening the saddles so they arent tilted towards the high e. the d, g and b strings are set, but no matter how much i crank the other saddles i cant get them intonated. does this have to do with how low the saddles are? if i could raise the action a bit, with that help? and no, the neck is fine, now bows or warps. my strings are 12 15 24 32 42 52, that might be my problem.

Not to rain on your parade, but you typically need to make sure the body is designed for a short scale neck. Otherwise, you'll run into the kind of intonation problems you mention. It has nothing to do with the radius. In order for the guitar to intonate properly, you'll probably need a 25.5 inch scale neck, or you'll need a body designed for a 24.75 inch scale neck.

This could be the reason behind your intonation problem possibly. Saddle height also effects string length.

well i fooled around with it again... the low e is still not coming around. the d is close enough and the g saddle doesnt want to tighten, which is wierd because there is a lot of slack in the spring. i think these saddles are too crowded together. ?

oh well, it sounds great anyhow. no chords sound off in pitch. im loving these new pups! the pearly gates didnt sound like i was expecting, its better. both these pups have LOUD high end. which is cool, different from my strat.

If the saddle is being pushed to the side, that will throw off the intonation. The string will be sharper, and you may run out of saddle travel length before the string intonates properly.
