I like the wine red and amber, but my absolute fave is the 57 black beauty.

I'm a definite Les Paul lover. The guitar, not the man.

I purposely sought out my fave's and aquired them at all cost.
Goldtop, honeyburst flametop, and 3 pickup Black Beauty Custom/aged binding

I really love desert burst too. I don't care much for tobacco sunburst, tho
I do backflips everytime I see any Joe Perry LP! All of those are killer,
and supposedly chosen by his artist wife. Tiger's Eye and faded green!

    My other fave's are
    Silverburst (really want one!)
Natural flametop or curly maple with nickel hardware
Dark cherry sunburst, not the yellowish/red bright cherry
and one I saw that was a cross between plum and brown. I wish I'd bought
    that.

Sure is. And get this...that guitar is just a plain old standard. I dont see how, but it is. Here is a link to the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=41409

Looks more like a plus but I guess he knows the axe better than I do. But maybe not, he's saying it's a custom color, which it is not.

ALF - that is a beauty. I've only seen one oxblood up close. Too bad it was a lefty...

Fatty - I totally agree. That axe looks super classy. From metal to jazz its got the looks to cover all styles.

On a totally different subject, what do you guys think about this. I am in the process of customizing my standard. So far I am putting on a light weight aluminum tail piece, installing the RS Relics premium kit ( http://www.rsguitarworks.net/catalog...products_id=31 ) and am thinking about adding a custom truss rod cover. My thoughts on the truss rod cover are an ebony cover with my initials in MOP. Or I can do ebony with a wine red colored inlay material. Do you think the custom TRC will look to cheesy? Here is a link to some examples: http://www.nicholsguitars.com/trc_ni.htm

What do you guys think? yay or ney on the TRC?

My absolute favorite is vintage sunburst. Trans true-blue is also great, as well as midnight burst. Black isn't my favorite, but it's safe.

My other favorite, however, would have to be korina. I would very much enjoy having a korina les paul. With P90s.

I always wanted LPs in two colors that I never seemed to find in standard production:

translucent black w/flame top. kinda like gearjonesers avatar except darker.
bright red w/flame top, not wine red. I've seen pictures of slash and sammy hagar with guitars that are this color.

I have a heritage cherry sunburst LP standard, so I guess that would be my third fave

I am pretty fond of CS Flame Tops, Black and TV Yellow. I do have a thing for the Dk. Blue Trans top Class 5's but I I'd be just as happy finding a nice cherry mahogany single cut Jr. I think the new Gecko Burst, Latte Burst and the Root Beer with black binding look hideous, got to check them out this past weekend and oh man what are they thinking?

I have a wine, a honeyburst plaintop and a heritage cherry flametop.

I have my eye on a Goldtop with P-90s as well but it's a 57 Custom Shop something or other and the $2000 pricetag has me firmly backed off.

Pretty much all of em...lol. My favorites are (quilted or flamed of course) amber, honeyburst, blue, desertburst, wine red, peac0ck, and of course a goldtop. Although I have a cherry burst, those aren't one of my favorite colors. I rarely see one that I really really like. When I saw mine I knew I had to have it.

Completely faded "lemon burst". Like Gary Moore's (Peter Green's old LP).

I still have the wine red, but I regrettably sold the copper Custom prototype.
