Default Starting to have a negative experience with Weber Speakers

I ordered a JBL D130F back in the first week of December from Weber. He said he had a bunch of them laying around that he'd bought up. I assumed they'd already been reconed. But they had not.

So a week or two goes by and I ask and he tells me that he's kinda backed up, but he'd try to have it to me by X-mas.

Every couple of weeks I'm told it's "going out this Friday". Nothing. Now I get another email today saying that they're backed up 6 weeks, but my 130 is in stage two and will ship this Friday.

I've done a fair amount of business with Weber and it's always been first rate. If I had known it was going to take this long, I'd have just ordered a California 15 ceramic. I guess they've bitten off more than they can chew with all the new amp kits and such.

Anyone else having problems like this currently? I feel like they pretty much forgot about me during december and then it's Oh crap, we forgot about this guy. We better get busy.

It's just frustrating to have an amp you built sitting there for close to 2 months waiting for a speaker, when it was never made clear that I'd be in for a 2 months wait. I should have asked. My bad.

I hate to hear that, Scott. I am currently shopping for an upgrade to the 12 in my Hot Rod Deluxe. Weber has been recommended several times by several forum members, but that end of the business seems a little weak. They should have informed you of the delay from the start. It is bad business to keep someone waiting on empty promises.

I hope it gets cleared up for you soon. Keep us informed of any changes!!!

    bummer

I hope the wait's justified! I've been waiting to hear your report on that amp

I agree, Ted's a great guy, but people can get backed up at the end of the year. However, it sounds like this one fell through the cracks.

Hopefully, your patience will be rewarded.

"it is a really hard song. it has like 3 different power chords in it. i just learned what power chords are, i thought it was the thing from your amp that you plug in to the wall."

I just ordered a Weber Cali 10'' right before Xmas. Got it a little over 3 weeks
later. He did say it had to be built,So i guess 3 weeks Isn't bad? But after
about a month or so... I'd be ticked off to.

I've probably bought 10 items from them over the last couple of years. The way we were corresponding, it seemed that that JBL frames were already reconed and ready to go. Oh well, just gotta quit being a gear junkie and wait patiently.

They must be really backed up. They've suspended re-coning speakers for a while. Take a look http://www.webervst.com/recone/
