Cool Please say hello to new family members

For the last 5 days, I acquired two Fender guitars: 50 Aniv. American Strat two tone sunburst and American HS tele.

The strat was aquired at GC today by trading in JCM800 half stack. I wasn't sure what I wanted for trade and I happened to see this guitar hang on the wall. I was like "THAT'S IT!". I told my buddy Dave that "I want that guitar and I don't need to play it". It's a beautiful guitar with two tone sunburst.

The HS tele was acquired from guitartrader for $599 to satisfy my perverted desired for a wicked tele. I am dropping Jazz neck and Tele hotrail bridge. Yes I am a tele perv.

Plesae say hello to them. Otherwise, they may not allow you to touch them when you visit my place ...

    Hello boys!

That Tele looks pretty cool...Tele's with no guardplate have aleays looked kinda funny to me, but I do dig the color!

That Strat looks great...I have always had a soft spot for 2 color burst...I wish my JV was a 2 color...but the black one sounded best!

    Nice scores bro!

nice tele it's the rosewood version of mine...i love that guitar after my modifications it's my main guitar now...look what you can do with it...

    before...

    after...

mine also has a tele hotrails in it but an sm1 vintage mini hum in the neck...this thing sounds KILLER. you'll love the tele hotrails it has a much better thicker sound than the strat hotrails! if you keep it with no pickguard i'd change the neck pickup mounting ring to chrome and use and use a black jazz, that would look sweet! with the pewter paint!

now your talkin' good choice and good taste!! that should look killer with the chrome ring!! it's amazing how a little ring can make a huge change. make sure to post pics when it's done and let me know how you like that tele hotrails. it has become my favorite duncan single coil sized pickup. for the price these are the best tele's IMO 22 med jumbo frets US made and low price...plus you can use it without a guard or add one which is a nice option to have. there is/was a candy red/maple one on ebay i was tempted to buy also since i love my pewter one so much.

I'd probably go along with XSSIVE suggested, but if you ever do go with a guard, the Fender Black moto pearl guard looks great on silver/pewter, along with a nickel neck humbucker. Cool guitars!

congrats friend - enjoy and play in good health

will the strat stay stock? ... i've imagined buying one of them, putting it under the bed for 25 years, then pulling it out to fund my retirement
