My SM-1 came with a single shielded lead. I believe the SM-2 and -3 have 4-wire leads, so you could split those.

If they are 4-conductor, you could aplit them; but I wouldn't advise it. Their tone is bright enough and if you slpit them they are going to be thinner than any other single coil and won't sound too good. Also, if they are split, you'll have balance issues when combining them with other pickups...Originally Posted by skh515
