Thumbs up TWO thumbs up : Visual Sound Route 66

Finally got it last week, and played thru the whole practice yesterday.

Ok, this is the newest model, with improved tone circuit, buffer, switches, etc... with add. Comp Tone On/Off switch.

Cnstruction? High quality, very sturdy casing, thick metal. The hardware used (switches, pots and jacks) all seem pretty good too. No flimsy hardware on this one. Nice paint job too.

Sound. Great! Awesome! Very nice FIRST impression. No need to tweak the dial for hours to find a good tone.

    - The OD side (TS-style) is great, lots of chord definition and punch. Doesnt clean up as good as my JEverman FuzzDrive when rolling the guitar vol down, but it is not a necessity in this case. I like it, really. The bass boost is a GREAT option, always ON.

    - The Compressor side is really fine too (Ross/Dyna style). It is much more transparent than I thought, but clearly noticeable on clean chords. AWESOME country-style picking (clean). Can also be used as a clean boost. I could leave it ON all the time! I really like it.

Final verdict : Great pedal. When you can get a TS and Dynacomp in 1 pedal, within a reasonable price range (a bit over 100$ on eBay, mine was 2nd but brand-new!), you cant go wrong. So far, I can only recommend it. But only time will tell. But sounds like a keeper.

Only 1 con so far : made in china.

I have one as well, it's a killer pedal! I've been using it a lot lately with the new strat, pushing a clean channel into slight breakup territory. I also use it with my humbucker equipped axes, nudging a dirty channel into overdrive for leads. It works very well either way .
