    Default ant II surfers

is the "antiquity II" name to reference a second set of antiquities or does it mean that all the pickups in the line use alnico II mags?

do the surfers use anico V mags?

does anyone know a place online i can order from that has them in stock?

No, they are not Alnico 2, they are Alnico V, the Antiquity II is i guess just the second line of antiquity strat pickups Duncan made. They are awesome pickups and I love them in my strat. Id recommend ordering them from Lewguitar, a member here, his site is www.lewsguitars.com .

Thanks! The Antiquity II Surfers are my favorite Duncan Strat pickups. I have them in FOUR of my favorite guitars...that's how highly I regard them. I even have an Antiquity II Surfer in the neck position of one of my Teles.

I've never heard a better Strat pickup and that includes all the old 50's and 60's Strats I've owned. I like them so much I've even thought of putting them in my original '63 Strat because my other Strats so much better I don't play my old '63 much anymore.

Maybe something that confuses people is that the Antiquity II's aren't Alnico II.

Like Lew, I think they're the best vintage strat pickup out there. Right now, I have the Surfer neck and middle in my reverse metallic blueburst strat, along with a trem JB.
If you're using an SSS strat, and you want a great combination, try the Ant II Custom bridge or Twangbanger, along with the Surfer neck and middle. That way, you'll have a little more power in the bridge position, while still having the perfect neck and middle.

Looks like Pair Networks, the outfit that hosts my website, is having a bad day! I can't get into my website either. Sorry! You can email me at lewguitar@aol.com or send me a PM though. Thanks! Lew

This brings up something funny. The Antiquity entry page, describes the difference as being:

Antiquities: Designed to look, sound, smell and taste like a 35 year-old pickup should.
    Antiquity II: The 60's series.

Apparently, that banner is around 10 years old.
