    Default MIM Fender body question

On a 2000 MIM strat, did they use different woods or just one type of wood on average? What is the type of wood they used?

    Thank you again.

That's what's coming up when I do a search but just in case I wanted to see if anyone knew of anything different. Trying to choose pickups again...

I don't think they are, but that's nothing that a router can't fix for you.

ok as for 2000 strat bodies...if i'm not mistaken 2000 was a year when they used both poplar and alder...but every sunburst strat is ALWAYS alder due to the better grain...so if it's solid painted and a 2000 it could be either poplar or alder (i'm pretty sure 2000 was one of the "use what we have around" years for fender lol)

MIM tele bodies are routed for a hum in the neck but with no middle routing.

It's Lake Placid blue. It's got some weight to it so I'm thinking it's Alder. Poplar is real light, right?

being a 2000 model AND being a solid color it might very well be poplar...
