Although you can get some pretty heavy tones out of the JMP-1, for out and out metal I would say the Triaxis is best.....but then again it costs 4 times as much!!!!!
GUITARS
STRATS: Custom Strat - Lil 59/Classic Stack/Hot Stack, Jackson Fusion - C5/JB Jr/JB Jr, Kramer Pacer Custom - CC/SSL-1/SSL-1, Schecter V-1 Plus - C5/SSL-6/SSL-6, VH1 Strat - 59, Fender Partsocaster - C/PG hybrids
LESTERS: Edwards Sykes Custom - DD/DD, Edwards Custom V/white - JB/59, Burny Floyd Rose Les Paul
AMPS
Engl Screamer 50 combo + V112 Cab, Splawn Competition, Marshall 1982A & 1982B, Marshall 1960A.
If you pot some 12AX7 tubes in sted of the 84 tubes in the JMP-1.
Then you got the same tubes on the JMP-1 as the Triaxis.

You get the whole rack cheaper than a new Triaxis.
But I still bought the Triaxis/2:90 pair, utterly brutal.
I have a JMP-1 with the el-34 power amp. I like it a lot, But I do want the triaxis. Very good piece of equipment.
So the triaxis is the one best for metal
Thanks
I'll agree to that. No one does metal like Mesa.

Metallica tend to agree

I know this is out of topic, but another choice you can check into is the ADA MP-1 with the 3Tube Mod. Check the clips on the www.adadepot.com 3TM page.
