Default SD 59 + Orange Clip: Degradation Trip Content

    Bargin Basement Howard Hughes

I started out wanting to do anger rising - I may still - but I started messing with this one, and was having a bit of fun with it.

In fact, this clip was recorded no less than an hour ago (it's 11:30 now...) at such low volumes you can HEAR my jack-hammer like mutes during the part with no drums, and I'm around a corner from my amp (amp in living room, I am in dining room - together they are L shaped, with the short leg being the dining area...

Also, what's different with this one, is that I decided to do single takes for the whole thing. There are two tracks, but they are identical parts - I just panned one left and one right. Most of my clips are cut/paste pieces, I'll play x riff 10 times, choose a couple that fit well and then stack/pan them. Not this one though

I just got those SD 59's installed a day or so ago, and I'm digging them - this is the first clip I've recorded with them (so far!)

Let me know your thoughts =)

This sounds pretty damn brutal. It's almost making me want to record vocals on this.

EDIT: Oh crap, it's just a clip!! I wanna hear the full thing!!

I really like the sounds of the rockerverb and you're not even using a high output pickup. Is it good for lead stuff at all? It sounds like it can get heavy, can it do stuff with as much gain as say BLS? It does the grungy metal thing very well. The 30 watt combo is very tempting.

I think the 30w combo has one less gain stage, which might keep it from going to BLS levels.
On mine, there is more gain on tap, though, it gets more "saturated" for lack of a better term - it still sounds great, just I like it where at, but there is more gain that could be used.

I'm also not much of a lead player, so posting a clip with a lead part, wouldn't be fair to the amp =)

Sweet! Do you blame the amp or the pickups for the SWEETNESS?

probably a combination of the two
"it is a really hard song. it has like 3 different power chords in it. i just learned what power chords are, i thought it was the thing from your amp that you plug in to the wall."

that thing sounds BAD A$$! How much did it cost you? I'd love to have a rockerverb 50 head.
