    Question SMB 4a or 4d.

For rock-metal music. SMB 4a (Alnico version) or SMB 4d (ceramic version with its active circuit) in an OLP MusicMan bass?

    welcome to the forum!!

i use the alnico version and i love it. full and fat with good high end
the ceramic is more aggressive in the mids with more output so for rock/metal the ceramic might be a better choice. for blues/rock the alnico would be my pic
the electronics are a must have, they give so much versitility

Thanks Jeremy from Spain. Anothers questions.
Are these pick-ups only single coil or dual coil too?
¿Seymour Duncan (STC-3m3) or Bartolini (HR 2.4 or 3.4) active tone circuit?
I´m thinking to buy an Ampeg 50W combo. I have heard it and its sound is what I was looking for, like the Rage Against the Maching one.
