Default 2x12 cabs with Fender HRD?

What would be the best 2x12 cabs to go with my Hot Rod Deluxe?
I love the tone of my amp. and I'd like to had a cab. to make it sound even better. Blues, rock, hard rock and funky rock. What do you suggest?

I e-mailed Dave at Avatar looking for the same thing as you. Their cabs seem to have a good following and you can get them made to your custom specs. Here are the prices he gave me:

black tolex and matching grill(custom orders cost extra)
    1x12 cab empty-$159+$19 shipping
    2x12 cab empty-$229+$34 shipping
2x12 cab with two celestion vintage 30s-$269+$34 shipping(he said this one was a special at the time so I don't know if that is the current price)

I think I'm going to go with a 1x12 cab so I've got a 2x12 setup. I looked at the measurements of the cabs and the 1x12 cab is smaller than the HRD and I think it kinda looks funny your going to set the HRD on top of the cab so I hope they can make the cab a bit wider for me. The 2x12 cabs are quite a bit bigger than the HRD so they would work out fine. Unless you particually like the sound of a certain cab I'd say this would be the cheapest way to go and have everything to your own specs. Just go to their web site and check them out.

well, if you wanna keep the sound I'd say stick with the same kinda speaker, which would be an eminence legend 125

I got an avatar 1x12 I'll sell you cheap, yeah you can't stack em without it lookin goofy, but you could put it next to the hot rod & it'd look fine

Matt99camero, I went to check out the Avatar website. Thanks for the tip.
I wrote to them and depending on their answers, I might go for their 2x12.
The Fender 2x12 cabs are rare and priceless. Thanks again.

Nice Amp !! I've got HRD gas BIGTIME !! This thread reminded me
    I got a old randall 2 x12 w/t Celestion's in it sitting storage. Once i score
a HRD it might look sweet sitting on top. The Cab is wired for 16 ohms now.
I'll have to rewire it to 8ohms. But can a HRD be ran at 4 ohms safely?
The schematic shows a 4 ohm tap? But I'd like to be sure. (Sorry I don't
    mean to hijack the thread)

I am looking to move a '63/63 blonde Bassman 2x12 cab with a pair of late 80's Greenbacks and it isn't too pricey. $400 plus shipping. It has the original tiltbacls and head screws, the tolex has a bit of discoloration and a few tears but the cab is in very good original shape.

yeah you can, put an empty plug in the extension speaker jack & run another one from the main jack to the cab

    and yes it's safe

Does anyone have a 2x12 from Traynor and if so, how is it?
