Need Opinions for Demo

I revamped a few tunes and re-recorded a couple also. These are the ones I came up with from the bunch. If you'd like to give your valuable opinion, I need to settle on 2 of these songs for a demo

Lost on Earth

I liked Fantasy is free and Lost on earth. Suprisingly missing on
your tunes was that BIG Solo I know your capable of doing??
You did Some Nice textured solo's But... Well don't go by
me. I guess I was listining as a guitarist and Not a A&R Man

I just did an instrumental demo with lots of solos. I was hoping for more of a songwriter feel on this project though. My new stuff is going to have a blues/surf feel. I am looking forward to getting on it when night-school ends for the summer

Nights and Dayz is just a perfect power pop track. The tones are to die for, and it jumps and grabs you right off the bat. I also like Lost On Earth a bunch. Sweeter and compliments Dayz nicely.

Tonally this stuff reminds me of John Lennon. Has a nice natural, slighty dark tonality.

Very cool tracks, on some I feel that the distorted guitar is just a bit high in the mix, I would prefer a bit more out of the drums to really drive the music, while rolling the Marshall just a bit back to set your vocals up a bit more. I love the tone, but it just covers space than it needs to IMO.

Kev, thanks a bunch. I will work on the mix. I tend to agree that it could be more articulate and I appreciate your critique. I heard some of your tunes with your female vocalist and you did an excellent job with your recordings.

Interesting that you mention John Lennon because I have always liked his music. He is a life-long influence that I don't notice in my own stuff, because his style is so embedded in my brain as a standard

My one complaint is that I thought the guitar was way over processed. A retro vibe song should be a bit more retro guitar sound IMO.

Hey some of this stuff reminds me of some old Dutch rockband called, Golden Earring. Ever heard of them?
From the listed tunes I liked 'Nights and Daze' and 'Statues Stare' the most but I really think you should do a rendition of 'Flow' to go on the demo, that kickass solo should be up there.
Btw. Why only 2 songs on a demo?

Oh yeah, beyond "Radar Love" and "Twilight Zone" they did a lot more cool stuff. I recently worked with a producer who was in the studio with them when they recorded Radar Love.

Thanks for your input. I specifically needed 2 songs only, for submission to a possible (low low budget) opportunity.

I sent 'Nights and Daze' and 'A Day' and I got a request for more tunes. I need to do a little remixing but I think the statues song will be one of the next group.

UCSD Boy I specifically needed 2 pop tunes for this demo. Kahuna Loco is on my instrumental CD and I am definitely pushing it for other projects. It is on a couple of (low budget) Santa Barbara surf videos and possibly something else pretty soon.
