    Default Does this amp exist?

I'd like an amp that's all-tube, with two channels, usable clean, rockin' distortion, seperate EQ on those channels, 30-60watts, combo or head doesn't matter...I'm lookin for a more diverse or maybe just better-sounding step-up from my Bassman.

Oh a Fender would be prefered 'cuz of how i'm so into Fender...

no there's not a fender amp like that

but i bet jeff can do some mods to your bassman & make you a lot happier with it

like maybe make the bass channel into a real clean normal channel, then you could get an a/b box & use that to switch between them

or you could just buy a twin & an a/b box & run both amps

    There's always the Marshall JCM 600 / JTM 60 series. I have a 600 2x12 combo. 60 watts, EL34, 2 channel, excellent cleans, etc.

Actually, there WAS a Fender amp made like that. It was called the 75. I have one. It's got a duet of 6L6s (with a high and low power switch) and a 12AX7 for a preamp, and a transformer bigger than anything I've ever seen on a tube amp. It was Fender's answer to Mesa's Boogie. Two channel, each with its own EQ, the lead channel having a cascading volume, effects loop and onboard (albeit kinda crappy sounding) reverb. I believe it was actually designed as a studio amp for session players. If you're willing to look for one, I think you could find one at a reasonable price, as they're not really looked upon as being collectable, but they still sound very, very nice.

Rivera Rake. After all, Paul Rivera worked for Fender for a while.

It just so happens that I have one for sale, too.

I'd go with SoCalSteve's suggestion. That new Traynor EL-34 amp looks like the best amp out there, for $639. You could sell your bassman for close to that, add a few hundred bucks, and have a killer new amp!

With the exception of dual EQ, I get all that and then some with the Two Rock.

But, the Riveras have a knack for giving up Fender on one channel and Marshall on teh other, using a set of EL34 tubes to boot! (Knucklehead 55 in my case)

Mesa Boogie? They just released this new Lonestar Special. It has 30 watts and all the features you are looking for, and much more. Check:

Dont leave Laney out.. i think it fits that description more than any other. Clean is near fender quality, distortion is probably around that of a jcm 2000 DSL in terms of distortion, not tone. Hard & heavy, but not over the top. I use the VC50, but there are other models and combos that are just as good, if not better. I got mine for 500, you can find them cheaper.

Take a look at a Bogner Shiva or Extacy. The Shiva is a Twin and a Plexi (clean) in the clean channel, The drive channel has a huge amount of gain, but all very usable. I have not played thru the Extacy, but the Shiva is a Killer Amp. It is available as a combo or a head!

+1. The EL34 version would be overkill for him though, it's 80w.

It's one of the best deals around for the money IMHO (where else do you get blackface Fender and hot rodded Marshall for $1600?). I think what would really help is what kind of distortion Empty Pockets is looking for. We know he likes Fender cleans, so that narrows it down somewhat. What price range are you looking at Empty Pockets?
