Duncan Distortion Rules!!!

I can give you a different answer......Try a Full Shred. I've got one in my '85 V. I'm pretty pleased with the tone.
I like the DiMarzio Virtual PAF in my Dean Korina V. Nice presence without being shrill or harsh.
A Duncan Antiquity Bridge would sound good too. Smoother and more vintage sounding with a little sponginess. Less presence.

I had a Gibson V with a Dimarzio Super Distortion in it and it RIPPED!!

Same here. I have Gibson 98' Flying V with a set of Virtual PAF. I enjoy playing that guitar.Originally Posted by GHWelles

I set mine up with the four conductor Virtual PAFs in the Bridge and neck and put a coil tap on the neck Volume pot and a phase tap on the bridge volume pot. Now by messing with the phase and coil taps and the volume knobs I can get all sourts of great sounds.Originally Posted by brisk

For me, V is straight-forward rock guitar. So I have two humbuckers, one pickup selection switch and a one knob for master volumn. No tone pot no other switch. I use 250K pot though.Originally Posted by GHWelles

Does a Jackson King V count? I have a Custom in the bridge & absolutely love it!
