Now you have me gassing for a P90 equipped guitar. Cripes, like I need another damned guitar. I looked at the PRS SE models, but hell, I can get a Gibson for almost the same $$. Here's what you all have done to me now:

Having owned the SE Soapy and some Gibson P90's (including a special, SG classic, and 54RI custom) I have to say the best sounding P90 guitar I've come across was the SG Classic. That thing smokes.

Peer pressure sucks, don't it?

Jeff, don't feel bad buddy...I have P-90 GAS as well...I smell a Les Paul Special in my future!
Christian,
I had a Gibson Les Paul DC Faded with P-90's. Although I wasn't crazy about the finish, the thing sounded damn nice. Good luck in the quest.....

Something tells me you might be interested in something like this perhaps?![]()

That's actually a pretty neat project. So the top is going to be flame maple with a CLEAR finish? Will it be glossy or satin? And the headstock will be the Dean "V" style, or the Hamer style shown in the pic?Originally Posted by BTMN

It will be a Dean headstock with the string thru the body design cause it will be a Dean. Hamer photo is only for demonstration purposes. It was the inspiration for my idea to try to get the Dean made. Finish will be glossy.

What's with the chiclet markers?
Look for a 90-91 Special with Dot markers. Throw out the P-100's or use them as fridge magnets and drop in a set of SD Vintage or Ant's and you are golden!!!
Of course if you can step up a nice SG Classic is cool, I also have had an eye for a DC Special. In fact I just was given a handmade knockoff of a DC Special that'll be up and running within the month. I think I am in a SD P-90 Stack in the bridge and running it as a Jr. though.

It's a Les Paul Junior Special, and it's a discontinued model. Used is the only way to get one. It seems to be similar to a Jr, but on the headstock where is usually says Les Paul "Model", this one says Les Paul "Special".Originally Posted by xerxes
I love the look of it.
The "chicklet" markers are mini trapezoid markers. I would prefer dots, but they don't look THAT bad.
