Hey, I'm assembling my pedal board, and I was thinking about adding a voulme pedal. Anybody have any good suggestions? Obviously, I'm looking for something that sounds great, works well and is reliable. Any ideas?

I like my Morley Volume/Wah. They also have pur volume pedals. It's build very sturdy and works optical. Their Pro Series Volume pedal has a minimum level knob which is a very practical feature...

I have an EB Jr and a George Dennis Optical. I prefer the EB as it's very solid and feels nice under the foot.

i have the EB ... was pricey, but it is bullet proof ... if the jr is as good as the full size, i'd use it instead just to save floorspace
the roland i had sucked
i still have a old-school (late 70's ) morley too .. was dead quiet, but weighed a ton and ran on AC, no battery option! ... was hard to keep it in one position after it got old, but worked great for volume swells, or muting ...

Id go with the ernie ball vp jr its just and easy to use solid pedal very simple to control sweep stays in position well and is passive which is a nice plus.

Do any of you use your volume pedals in your FX loops for volume boosts for solos?
I couldn't find one that did a decent job....the sounds changes too much when you "roll off" the volume.

I believe it is important to match the pedal to your guitar's electronics and volume pot values.
I just started using a "lil gator" Morely volume pedal in the effects loop of my amp and I'm pretty happy with it. I use mostly to adjust my volume for switching guitars or for parts of songs and for what I'm playing technic-wise and other effects-wise. A lot of guys just use the volume knob on the guitar for what I use the pedal for but I like a pedal better, I feel I can be more accurate and do it on the fly and adapt to various situations more easily. I don't really use it for volume swells, I've not worked on it and don't really have the feel for it.
The good thing about the volume pedal in the effects loop is that the "tone" is pretty much the same through the different volume levels. Each pedal sounds so different when hit with slight changes in signal, and sometimes it makes too much of a difference. It is kinda nice to hear everything as it should sound as you come up or down in volume.
