    Default effect questions

    hello guys,

i need your opinion on a few effects i think im going to buy:

    i have a rickenbacker 330 and a vox ac 30cc

    ok here are the questions:

i want to get a compressor, what do you think of an mxr dynacomp? what are the differences to a mxr supercomp? which one do you like better?

i need a deley pedal too and im thinking of a boss dd. has anybody ever tried a digitech digi delay?

the last thing i want to buy is an overdrive/distortion pedal. i have no idea which one im going to take. how about an ibanez tubescreamer?

    thanks for listening

You've got nice equipment already so I would make sure the pedals you get don't compromise your tone... so I would focus on True Bypass pedals. Overdrives and compressors can definitely color your tone when off if they're not TB. There are so many pedals out there... but I'll give you a start with a couple of suggestions in each category...

    Delays:
    Boss DD6
    Line 6 DL4

    Compressors:
    Analogman Bi-Comp
    Keeley Compressor

    Overdrive:
    Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive
    Fulltone OCD
1978 Lefty Gibson Les Paul Custom (C5 bridge, Jazz neck) with Jimmy Page wiring
1996 Lefty Fender Jazzmaster (w/ SD Antiquity IIs)
2003 Lefty Taylor 414RCE (Rosewood Limited Edition with Expression System)
Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier 3-channel through Marshall 1960A cabinet via THD HotPlate
Effects: Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah, Fulltone DejaVibe, Maxon Rotary Phaser (PH-350), Boss DD6, Boss RC20 LoopStation, BBE Sonic Stomp

hmm i cant find those compressors and overdrive pedals around here (austria)

i think dd3 would be enough for me. has anybody ever tried the digitech delay? this pedal would be much cheaper

    I use a Ibanez TS-9 It's an awsome pedal.

I'm also interested in what people have to say about the delay pedals.

which guitar and amp do you use with the ibanez ts?

does anybody know if the quality of a Morley PWV II Wah/Volume pedal is ok?
im only looking for a volume pedal but if the wah sounds ok, why not?

    edit:

what do you think about the vox cooltron pedals?

The Barber compressor is an amazing pedal.

I can't help you with a delay pedal,

but with overdrives or distortions or fuzzes you really have to test them out with your guitar and amp and listen carefully. There is so much going on between the guitar and the amp that the pedal has to match well with. I really like the Fulltone fulldrive II but I'm not playing a rick guitar nor a Vox amp, but the Fulltone Fulldrive II works well with single coils and humbuckers and is very tweakable. Other distortion pedals I've liked are: SIB Varidrive, Marshall Jackhammer, Fulltone 69 (fuzz).

I mostly use it with my strat and my fender amp, but I also use it with my Ibanez. I mostly use it for Blues and 80's metal. I might not do death metal very well, but I really couldn't say because my amp is best for blues n' Jazz.

    Good luck

    something like indie rock
i mostly use nice clean sounds
im not looking for metal or something like this, more the old, bluesy and vintage sound.

does anybody know something about the Tube Amp Doctor Range King???

seems to be good for amps like the ac30cc.
