    Default Another MegaSwitch question

I have a megaswitch and a Brian Moore with 2 SD HBs, a CC and APH2...
I'd like to wire it like a MusicMan Axis Sport, which has the idea here: http://www.ernieball.com/mmonline/te...s_sport_hh.gif

Problem is, what confuses me is the the Music Man uses Dimarzio pickups, and the wire colors on those are all screwy...

My schematic reading is terrible, so if anyone could sribble out a diagram so even I can figure it out, I would be delighted..I have done lots of soldering before, but this 4-section megaswitch has me all confused..

which mega switch do you have, mincer? there are (at least) 3 flavors of megaswitch ...

the combinations in that diagram are:
    1) neck HB
    2) inner coils (parallel)
    3) neck and bridge HB (parallel)
    4) outercoils (parallel)
    5) bridge HB

this will involve a magnet flip if you want hum cancelling in #2 and #4? can you do that?

    cheers

EDIT: after looking at stew-mac, it makes me wonder if you actually have a superswitch .. none of the megaswitches provide those combinations (according to stew mac's documentation) ...

doh! I think that is what it is- I got it from Stew-Mac, I think...
a magnet flip..hmmm, thats gotta be easy, right?

I have this combo in another guitar wired this way (I didnt do it) and it definately hums in 2 & 4 (but it sounds great). Will the magnet flip give me the same sound without the hum?

yes, you can have hum-free pos. 2 and 4 with a mag flip as long as you have the correct switch ... it isnt that hard, really ... you just have to be careful ... i practiced on an old ibanez stock pup before i did it on my 59 and it worked out fine both times

    hi mincer

if you get a superswitch (not a megaswitch) this wiring diagram will do what you want (it will be humcancelling in pos. 2 & 4 as long as you flip the magnet in the bridge pup)

if you need to use the switch you have, you'll need to get us the 'pin outs' for it so we know what gets switched to where ...

    hope this helps
