    Default Seymour Duncan Single Coils

Im thinking of fitting my strat with a SD 59'er pickup at the neck,a SD JB JR pickup at the mid and a SD SHR-1 hot rail pickup at the bridge.

Is anyone familier with the versatility of this set up or any opinions?

I've never used the set up like that, but all of those pickups are great by themselves and may compliment each other nicely. A lot of people think the hot rails is too bassy in the neck position, though.

The 59 in the neck will give you the smooth bucker neck tone guys love, whereas the JBjr in the middle will give you the typical JB sting, and sing and the hot rails will grind out the nastiest riffs possible from a SSS strat setup.

Also the hotrails, unless split, aren't incredibly useable for cleans.

You'll use it, boy, and as long as you hate using it, you will use it more wisely than most men would. Wait. If ever you don't hate it any longer, then will be the time to throw it as far as you can and run the other way.”
