When I saw this all I could think about was Coheed and Cambria...the lead singer has a vintage ehite explorer w/ emgs and this is pretty close

A friend of mine has the version with the metall-ish plate. It plays and sounds great!It's a bit neck heavy though, but moving the strap button to the back of the gutiar somewhere (like around the neck joint somewhere) might elleviate that a little bit.
