Seriously?? I have been looking for that tone, but I couldn't get any answers, so I just chose a JB for the bridge in the axe I'm getting, and if that can give me the Judas Priest tone then sweet!Originally Posted by WICKED LESTER

In case you haven't seen this, there's some info on Judas Priest gear in the videos here.

Judas Priest tone is very JB with cranked JCM800s.

Interesting.. Glenn is playing a crate head.. sounds awesome.
I just saw JP and they're both using EMGs now, at least live.

I agree 100%, I can get damn close with a Custom as well, though a bit less nasal and a bit more aggressive... but I also have the JCM 800 to balance that pup small difference out and gimme TOOONEOriginally Posted by Stevo

Seen this way the JB is a very powerfull mid beast , the leads they have are so clear , basses are less strong but maybe with different amps you could have them back ? ( never tried a jb )

I was jamming along to that the other day with my JB-loaded Jackson. I used a TS9 Tubescreamer through my Brit-Hi-Gain (JCM800-ish model) setting on my Line6, they were sounding quite close.
I would agree with Stevo and Zerb. The JB might be the Duncan pup of choice for that one. I can't speak to Dimarzios since I've never tried any.
And yes, EMG's live - just saw them the other day.

yeah priest is all EMGs lately, but they didnt start using em till the late '90s i think. at least not on a large scale.
i didnt know that painkiller was all JB's......thats damn cool news to me. im gonna have to get a JCM800 one of these days (wont be for a while though, i reeeaallly wanna buy the new kevin bond rhoads). i love my XXX but theres some things that the 800 is just perfect for

My JB and Modded 800 gets the Living after midnight tone pretty good.
