Fender Telecaster 1962 Reissue MIJ

1968 Fender Twin Reverb
OMFG-I'd love to see the power strips on that one.
THe coolest amp collection I've seen is at Dave's Guitar Shop in La Crosse, WI. I think he has one of every Fender amp made and most Marshalls, except of course a Silver Jubilee.
Rambler + Tele + Stylish Chords = Heaven!
wow i'm not even a huge marshall fan but i'd love to own one purple and one red 1/2 stack!! man those are cool.

i wnat a 50 watt silver jubilee so bad. i dont even need it. they are just so nice and sound so great. even 3 stacks is alot. thats crazy. i dnot know if id ever need 3 fullstacks of the SAME amp.

I recognize that a lot of people really like these amps. I don't, I find them gritty. The gain doesn't seem as sweet as it does on other amps. I've only had experience with one, a 50/25.Originally Posted by slash857

All those marshalls and vox amps........wow!!!!

My experience as well...I never particularly thought they were that great sounding. Certainly not horrid, but I don't understand the praise they get (tone-wise..they DO look really cool). Alot of people went ape$hit over 'em at the time jes cos it was a high gain amp, like the channel switching 800s..which back then was a big deal...didn't need a pedal anymore or a super high output pup. I wouldn't mind havin one, but I could think of 10 other Marshall's I'd rather have.Originally Posted by The Golden Boy
As far as Slash..heresy, but I never cared too much for his tone :ducks: ...very good player no doubt, but his tone either came across as too sickly sweet (e.g. sweet child o'mine ) or too crispy and thin (e.g.Welcome to the Jungle) to my ears.
I'm an internet person. All we do is waste time evaluating things that have next-to-zero real world significance.

I'm glad I'm not the only one!Originally Posted by JeffB

That is correct.....some guy over on the LPF is the owner of the A4D Marshall. He put some clips up a couple months ago....good sounding amp..reckon it's jes slash's fingers that are the issueOriginally Posted by The Golden Boy

Jeff, could you please PM me with that guy's username?Originally Posted by JeffB
There was a thread there about that amp, and I don't remember anyone claiming to own it. I remember someone getting an amp modded by that guy. From what I'm aware SIR got the amp back and it disappeared from their inventory.

i had a silver jubilee back in the day,Halfstack. it was all clip and no gain. it was also very nasal sounding. it was a one trick pony and after a half hour infront of that amp you had a massive headache. I played a les paul and a 76 explorer thru it. All of wich are gone now![]()

You can get a pretty nice variety of tones out of a Jubilee, as long as you've got great tubes and pickups. I still like my Bogner a whole lot more, since it covers a larger number of Marshall tones, and then some. To be honest, I don't care a lot for Slash's tone either, and have only heard tones that are better than his, coming out of the 2555 and 2550 I've owned. Maybe I'm just not a fan of Alnico II Pros, which he uses, because Customs, C-5's, CC's, and Seths sound great through the Jubilee.

I've got to admit that I have not played through very many marshalls. I played through the 1971 Marshall Super Bass that I had for a little while...I've also played through a buddy of mine's 1972 50 watt marshall MKII (I think it's an MKII)....and I played through a Marshall JCM800 combo a long time ago, when I didn't know what I was looking at. Well, that's about it....I guess I need to expand my marshall knowledge, but they just never really called to me

That picture of Carl Neilsen from the Plexi palace website is my favorite picture of all time. When that picture first came out, I Emailed plexi palace and asked them who he was and how he's rich enough to afford an estate full of Marshalls and Vox's.
They told me he's the owner of a music chain in the UK, and he collected them all during the 80's, when nobody wanted 60's amps. He bought them all fairly cheap, and he has the best collection ever!

A shop owner i did a little work for also has a nice vintage amp collection..... People bring them into the shop and he buys them and hides them away.... he does not even play guitar..... it's just a business he fell into...
He didn't need all of those amps but have you heard of ''Collecting"?Originally Posted by CapoFirstFret

Some people collect swizzle sticks, some collect refrigerator magnets, some people collect famous people's hair, he likes amps.
