Default HSH wiring and parts list help needed

Forgive me guy's, this is my first shot at wiring up my guitar. It's a strat and I'm looking info on how to configure it. TB-4 bridge, Duck mid, Jazz neck.

Do I need 250k or 500k pots. Gonna be simple, 1 vol 1 tone and a 5 way. Also would I need push pull for anything? Maybe to run both of the hummers together??? I don't know anything at all about wiring a guitar but man o man I can wire your Chevy like no other

Gonna go grab the parts here shortly so I could use a list at least for now if ya all can help a noob out.

The pots is a tough call. I'd use 250's, but many here, (who have more experience than me playing), would use 500's, since they're humbuckers. If you tend to like "brightness" in your tone, use 500's. If you lean towards "mellow", go with 250's. They really aren't that hard to change should you change your mind later.

A push/pull pot would be cool to split the TB-4 and Jazz. You could still get the classic "notch" tones then in positions #2 and #4. Plus, the #1 and #5 positions would be cool also. It would be a very versatile axe with that simple mod.

Good luck, and ask questions if you run into any roadblocks.

If you're wanting the neck and bridge pups on together, you could always use a blender pot. For a Strat, you could put it where the second tone would go, if you're gonna make first pot tone a master tone.

Another alternative is to use a second volume control for your middle pickup and use a 3 way switch to switch between the humbuckers, like a Les Paul. That way you could always dial in a little middle. One of my friend does this with his 3 pup tele and he loves it.

i used 500k ohm pots with my hsh - can always roll the tone knob back if it is too bright, but cant dial brightness in if you use 250k pots ... i also hot rodded it with a push / pull to let me get the duck by itself ... and i used an on/off/on mini toggle to control which of the coils were split in the humbuckers ... with a reverse wiring and mag flip it let me get 'inners' and 'outers' a la a PRS

    good luck, have fun

Well I can't find a pickguard in town so I'm just going to order everything. I got the pickguard and a Megaswitch E from Stewmac coming and I was gonna get the pots and knobs from allparts. Looks as if the only guard I can find is set up for 3 knobs. Can someone jump over to allparts and get me the part numbers for the volume and tone pots I will need? I just don't know what to order. Hey if someone could grab me the correct PN# for a good quality jack as well I would forever greatful.
