    Default strat tone control

    alright, so ive had this american standard strat for a few weeks now. been loving it, but when i went to use the tone dial the other day it seemed to not do anything. there was no difference between 10 and 1. what would cause this, and what are some solutions? ill probably be taking it into the place where i bought it soon to have them take a look at it. thanks

    Did you try all the different pickup switch positions yet?

    IIRC, standard strat wiring schemes don't have a tone control attached to the bridge pickup. It should work in all the other positions though.

    The "standard" Fender knob wiring goes as follows.
    volume=volume for all pickups
    1st tone control= Tone for neck pickup
    2nd tone control= Tone for middle pickup
