Default How much am I missing out on?

I have an AVT50. I bought it because at the time i didn't know much about tube amps, and i thought it was one. (the salesman told me it was, bastard ) I probably would have stil bought it anyway because it wasn't a bad price and it was a pretty good amp and i needed it. Anyway, I'm pretty sick of it. It sounds artificial. I know my Artist could sound awesome. I'm eventually (when i get the money) try to sell it on Ebay and get a DSL40 combo off ebay. (it's now going to cost me more than i had planned because the Marshall bastards jumped up the price 200 bucks on them)

Anyway, how much am I missing out on? Also, how much do you think i'll be able to get out of a like-new avt50 on ebay? i was thinking of putting a buy it now of 400 since i figured i wouldn't be able to get much more than that out of it in an auction.

I'm guessin i'l be able to get a DSL40 combo on ebay for around 700 bucks on ebay. (sucks becuase 4 months ago i could have gotten a new one for that much) what do you think?

I doubt it. What will hurt your selling price is the fact that you'll have to accomodate the cost of shipping. Best way to figure out what to ask for is to track current auctions for the same item.

Cool Re: How much am I missing out on?

Shipping is always the catch 22 for auctions when trying to recoup your initial investment. Heavy items lke amps are especially tricky because of the prohibitive cost of shipping. In your listing you can advertise that you prefer local buyers so "they" can save on shipping by picking the item up.

I just charge like 20 more bucks, and "use" it on packing materials...that I found in my garage...prolly not the most honest thing though.

How is shipping a problem when your the seller?

    Just write: Buyer pays shipping.

It's a problem in the sense that the "winning price" will most likely be lower since the buyer has to factor their shipping into the total cost and won't be willing to pay as much.
