it depends on the model you get. i have a jt136 which is a copy of the gibson es-137 i think. i really love mine and the guys at the guitar shop who set it up for me all agreed that the quality was very good. i did get a tune-o-matic bridge from stew-mac though. the pickups sound pretty decent thru my blues deville 410. but i will probably replace them with a pair of '59s. mine stays in tune, it is intonated, looks good and plays good. what more can you ask for? especially in a bargain instrument.

my only advice is to play before you buy.

they are ok. overall they are really good looking, ok sounding, and play decent for the money. but with any cheaper guitar, if you find a good one then youre in great shape. ive played mexi strats that were killer, better than most americans, but i had to play 100 to find 1 great one, same with epi's

I haven't tried Jay Turser guitars but if you are looking for a great bargin guitar you should look into Agile guitars. All of these copies my be made by the same company but the only on I own is an Agile LP copy. It is a very good guitar in feel, sound and looks. I find myself picking it up more often than my Gibson. Best $250 I ever spent! If you want to know more, let me know.

    Rock on.

I hear what your saying jeremy. My Squier plays a lot better than most American Strats I've played - it's a good 'un!
Here's what caught my eye on e-bay for £149 (about $270)

I bought a Jay Turser PRS copy a few months ago. I don't intend to play it. I will act like Pete Townsend and smash it on stage at my next gig.

The ones I´ve played made Epiphones look like PRS´es in comparison, I honestly can´t say ANYTHING good about them...

This applies to Electrics and semi-hollows. The "pure" acoustics may be on par with what I expect a guitar to be, but I seriously doubt it after playing the others

I have only tried the les paul copy with the serpent inlay because I own one. The pickups are crap, but what cheap guitars aren't. I put the Zakk emg set in and now it rips. I think it played just as well as all the epiphones I've tested. I think their les paul and sg copies are the only good turser guitars though. I havn't heard anything good about any other models.
