Default Does any one else notice this?

When ever i take my schaller strap lock or even dunlop strap lock off there is a huge amount fo greasy black stuff. But it seems to be more dirtier on my higher strap button and less on the lower one enar the bridge. Does anyone know a way of preventing all that dirt and grime from getting in there? Not that it s ahuge issue but someitmes it gets all over my hands and my stuff its kinda gross like when you hand touches the engine parts of a car.

    Oh, no, heaven forbid!!!

But really, do you have a leather strap? It might be bits of worn off leather collecting in there...

It's normal - I think it's metal grit from the two parts rubbing against each other. Just keep it wiped away with a rag, and try not to rub it into the finish of the guitar.

hmm maybe becaise it i wear my guitar a bit lower than some of you guys. Not retardedly low like those punk guys, but i wear mine at say slash level? so my croche, so perhaps the locks move more adn rub and leaves this unpleasant crap there. Do you guys who dont have this problem wera your guitar higher? whihc wuld mean less movement.

I wear mine pretty much at my belt as well. Never had the problem with either Schallers or Dunlops. Then again, I'm anal about keeping my axes clean...

But the strat master isn't too anal about keeping his "johnson" clean, hence- the smegma.
