Default Pics of my one of a kind early 70s Gibson SG, custom paint job.

Hey guys, here's a link for a picture of my early 70s Gibson SG with a custom paint job. I've never seen a guitar like this before and it's really unique. Only problem is is that I have to get it restored. The neck is really bowed, according to a tech from a vintage guitar/bass shop. I've contacted the Guitar Specialist and I am waiting to hear from two other people to find out if there is someone within New England who restores vintage Gibsons or electric guitars for that matter. Does anyone know of luthiers in New England who are well known for their restoration work? Enjoy:

DAMN! I LOVE that guitar, I've always dug "The Fool" but this is better IMO. Nice axe.

It the neck is past what a pro tech can do with a truss rod. He's what u need to do:

Call luthier Peter Kyvelos @ Unique Strings, inc. in Belmont, Ma.
    617-489-1254.
This guy's the real deal. He is an expert restorer/luthier of stringed instruments. From cellos, violins, mandolins, guitars, etc.
Dude is old school, in a veeeeerry good way. I had a 1952 Gibson L7 restored by him back in the day, and I saw him restore a 1962 gibson super 400 that was backed over by a car. The dudes work is unbelievable!

    good luck.

Sweet! I bet that you are a owner of a, by now, quite rare guitar And the paint job screams 1970...
Hope you get the neck fixed and it'll sure turn out one great guitar. You'll sure get noticed on stage

I love that SG. It reeks of George Harrison's Rocky.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Yeah, I am really dying to get this puppy up and running. It'll have incredible stage presence for sure. I've also always wanted a Gibson SG too. What seems funny is that the neck feels small to me and I've heard so many people complain about how fat the necks are. Were the early 70s SGs made with slimmer necks than those of today? And thank you for the MA reference, I am calling later on today.

My 70's LP had a serious bad wrap to it and 2 different repair guys did the repair... First guy i think got over his head and subcontracted another guy.... They ended up taking the fingerboard off the guitar and straightened out the neck... Then built a new bound board with hand made Gibson style inlays as Gibson does not offer replacement fret markers. At least at the time they didn't.... I've had the guitar for about 12 years now since the repair job and it has never been adjusted since... infact i had better give that truss rod nut a turn soon so it does not get stickly... i'll put some oil on it.... i like to do that with some of these old guitars.
