    I've got two.

One's a MIJ Fender 69 RI with a Hot Tele lead and a Pearly Gates at the neck. I use a 5 way strat switch and a push pull pot to split the Pearly to get a ton of sounds. This is my rock tele.

My country(ish) tele is a MIJ Fernandez 50's style ash tele with a one piece maple neck. This one has a JD lead and a SM-1 at the neck, steel saddles, a reversed control plate, and Gibson style knobs. I want to get a Hipshot B Bender for this beastie later on down the road. Oh yeah, this one has a single ply white pickguard and is a vintage white (almost cream) color.

So tell me about this Tele with the 'Trons. Does it do the Gretsch thing very well being a solid hunk of wood? I have wanted to do that for quite some time.

Count me in as a Tele nut. I just sold my Bender, but stay tuned I have entered talks with the luthier who made my acoustic and I feel a custom sumpin sumpin comin on!!!!

I have 2 Teles. A stock MIJ '52 RI and a Califronia Tele. The RI will eventually have some pup upgrades. I plan on putting a vintage '54 in the neck and a JD in the bridge. I have the vintage '54, just wainting for the JD.

The California TELE is stock. It has Fender Tex mex PUPS in it A STrat PUP in the neck and a Tele in the bridge. I like this combo it works well for me!

    2004 MIM 50s Tele

I’ve upgraded to compensated brass saddles, recessed strap locks, and new 3 ply tortoise pickguard. QP lead (tapped) and QP rhythm (tapped) are scheduled for delivery to my door tomorrow, or so says the UPS tracking website.

Duncan Pickups in currently in use: '59 (rewound to PATB-3)/'59, Custom 5/AP2H, Tapped QP set for Tele, Duncan Distortion, SP90-1/SP90-2

Tele with the 'Trons. Does it do the Gretsch thing very well being a solid hunk of wood?
Hello, Our Old Moderrator here Rodney Gene first got me hooked on the Gretsch pups.. and he passed along a set of his prized Seymours Custom B.Setzers.. to me. When he went back to Bass playing full time.

The Overwinds have a nice midrange honk,,

The Classic do that Gretsch thing pretty good even in a Tele, But like Rodney told me and I do agree with what he thought about putting Gretsch Filtertrons in a solid body-- Is this " Those pickups really lend themself to a hollowbody - and you need to get the Filtertrons in a Hollowbody to really appriciate them)= So I got a big old Samick H650 and ordered the Filtertrons in a Humbucker cover-- and they do sound Big Dig Gretsch thingy in that..
But I'm selling that guitar after I pull the pups out... the narrow 1-5/8" nut spacing prevents pretty chords with these Pig Skinners.

As for the WESTCOASTELE Tele you see in my pic if you made one up... I would reccomend 500K pots.. as is its got 1954 Harmony Stratotone FIFTY OHM POTS

    Hey- He who invents Fire
Thanks so much for mentioning you like my Teles, I appricate it bro! Thanks, And YES! there are some SMOKIN" Tele GUNs here--whoosh-- I never knew--I'm a sick-puppy when it comes to Teles--and I want every pup combo I own to eventialy be turned into a Tele body shape--
So far I've turned my Strats a Hollow-Jazz-Box and the H54-Stratotone-and a 335- into a Tele and sold the originals..
    A Tele just feels right.
And I can look at them all day.

I've always wanted a guitar with a Charlie Christian pickup in it, just because of John Lennon having one in that super-modded junior from the 1972 New York concert.

I never tried with 500k pots and I'm tempted to do so soon.
Cause as is with the 50K's I dont take it out to gig's-- cause i totally suck at West Coast Swing-- I leave that up to my Friends -- Rick Holmstrom & Junior Watson, Joel Foy, Kid Ramos, Gonzalo, and a few others they just RULE at it!..
So I get my kicks from working on their gear for them... being these guys-->Rick Holmstrom & Junior Watson, Joel Foy

BTW just kiddin about the Fifty Bucks thing--- wish I could though! You desirve one!
