It's something special over a tele. At least I play alot different when I play my tele, that's also a part of the beauty and charm with tele's.

You'd better bulid yourself one and join the club
I plan on it. It's all spec'd out, priced and everything. Just one small problem..........the $$$$$$$ to buy the stuff to build it.

2 for now. A MIM with a Broadcaster/Fralin Blues Special and a MIK Custom FMT HH with a Custom Shop Antiquity/Jazz. I also have a really nice tele template sitting on the shelf waiting for me to get off of my butt and start working on my next project. I loves me some Tele!!!!

What color are you going for?

I hear that. I'm trying to figure out how I can build a Tele and an amp.

I spec'd out a Warmoth Tele last night at ~$1500, and I'll be lucky if I don't start pulling the trigger in the next month or so.

    Here's what's on the plate:

Ash Tele body - traditional routes
USACG Tele maple neck/ maple board - E.B. contour
    Graphite or Bone nut
    Callaham Tele Hardware Kit

    Pickups:
    Lindy Fralin Blues Special (b)
SD Hot Rhythm for Tele (n)

Doing the paint and neck finish myself.

EDIT 1/6/2006: Neck changed from Warmoth to USACG. Hardware changed to Callaham Tele kit.

MikeS, you're going all out aren't ya? Mine spec'd out at less than half that price, minus paint.

My estimate included paint and all hardware (even shipping ). It’s very much a Tele-Gib with a few pricey cosmetic upgrades. It remains to be seen how soon I’ll get around to actually fulfilling this episode of GAS.

That's a big difference right there. I added in having them paint it and finish the neck but I'd rather do it myself. No real upgrades for me either, just plain jane.

I have a 2002 or so MIM Tele in black/maple with a Quarter Pounder set in it. I beat the hell out of that guitar. The paint is chunking off, the finish on the neck is peeling away. It's currenty setup with high action for open/slide tunings.

I've been gasing for a tele for quite some time. And I got a little project for one that unfortunately will have to wait for better finances.

I bought a Fender USA Tele w/ maple neck in 2005. Uhm..like ..duh..I put in SD pickups ..what else ? I chose Vintage Stack neck w/ Hot Stack Lead. It's an awesome axe. I've been playing through my vintage '53 Fender Deluxe. If you are seeking eternal bliss, you might want to consider this rig for your home studio, or Sunday jam sessions with the guys. Not sure how to get a pic on here.

    Hey Don,

Can I get in on this too? I don't own a Fender Tele but I have owned a few. I am currently modding my OLP MM1 into being a Tele; well, kind of a Tele. It has a single cutaway and a Tele bridge and bridge pickup. If I need a real Tele to join the group, oh well, someonw will have to donate one to me....
