Hi, just wondering what string gauge you metal players out there use on your 24.75 scale Les Pauls.
What tunings do you use with the guitar too?
thanks

I use 12-52 in standard/Dropped D and 13-60 in D/Dropped C
Zerberus Industries: Where perfection isn't good enough.

Slinkys or Elixirs, 10-46 or 11-48, Standard or Eb, all depending on the mood I'm in . Usually it's Sinky 10's in standard.

DR Tite-Fit 11s for me on the LP, standard tuning.
Duncan Pickups in currently in use: '59 (rewound to PATB-3)/'59, Custom 5/AP2H, Tapped QP set for Tele, Duncan Distortion, SP90-1/SP90-2
GHS boomers 10-46. usually tuned standard. nice to hear that you are using the LP for metal!!!
ROCK ON!!!

munky.. they got respect for him.. he's the jimi hendrix of our era
I just started using 10-52. Need heavy bass strings on a Les Paul if you're doing any rhythm. A 42 or 46 low E is too loose

DR Pure Blues 10-42. I use that same set of strings on all of my axes.
Wait I just realized you said metalheads. Disregard my post

I use D'Addario 12-52's and i tune down two steps to C, then drop the low string down to Bb.![]()

my les paul gets 11-49 and my 24.75 schecter gets 10-52 since i use it in E and drop D

Blue Steel 10-46 on both guitars

9-42

11-52 on the Pauls and 10-46 on anything with a 25" or longer scale. I'm in standard tuning, E flat or drop D about 97% of the time.

Ghs 11-56
If you can't play good, play loud.

10-46, standard or E flat tuning.

I think I need to find myself a different gauge, bigger E, etc. 52 might be a touch big... is 10-52 the standard "regular top/power bottom"?

10-46 in standard, but as soon as I get another HH guitar, I think I'm gonna throw some 12s on it and crank it down to C standard![]()
