thanks Kelsey, i think i am going to go with you and Evan on this one. Everyone on here seems to know what they are talking about. But he has 4-5 tuners because he got one with every guitar that he has bought. Thanks for the advice. i am sure he would be pleased with anything that i got him

Go for the pickup, why not?
Also, more expensive doesnt ALWAYS mean better..depends what hes looking for so don't just get the most expensive one. Any Seymour he will be pleased with I guarentee it...especially if he gave you a list of them.

The four that i listed in the poll i can get for under $80. i guess a lot of them are going on sale for the holiday season. (Which is a good thing)

I ended up going with the SA-3SC. I didn't know how everything would turn out but he ended up loving it. I think it was the best present that i ever got him. I am sure that he will be pleased with it for a long time. Now he is looking to buy a new guitar. Thanks to everyone that had some input on this situation! If i have any other guitar questions, i know where i will come first!

I'm a bit late to this party, but I think that was cool what you got him. I do not think that $50 is too much to spend on someone that you've been with for 3 years.

It gets worse though.... on my 40th birthday, my wife of 15 years at the time, bought me a $2800 guitar. So, if you get married, start saving your pennies!

    Glad it worked out well.
