The pickguard on my DiPinto Mach IV doesn't sit perfectly flat against the guitar in certain spots. It isn't too noticeable, but I know it's there and I'd like to try to fix it. Any advice is appreciated.

You could try controlled, mild heat. I had a Strat guard warp like crazy from sitting on my car on a hot summer day...it doesn't take alot.

My strat did the same thing, I don't know what from but I leave it in my truck during hot/cold nights a lot so that's probably not too good for it or the wood...

well all i can think of is counter warping it, like said above with a controlled heat source, like a heat gun. Thats what I would say. I wouldn't do it too close tho you wouldn't wanna melt the pickguard.
easy fix, use a heat gun on or hair dryer and warm it up so it gets flexable then lay it on a hard flat surface with a heavy book or similar on top of it that covers the entire guard. you may need to add a bunch of weight to the book to keep it flat. do that a few times and let it fully cool under the book (or whatever you use) each time and it should be fine. i had to do that with a strat guard a while back.

I don't think Johnny Thunders or Greg would have worried about it...lol.

or even better, do the pressure method in a hot room - we've got a closet in our house that houses the water heater thingy (boiler?)Originally Posted by XSSIVE
, if you could keep it under heavy pressure in somewhere like that it'd be a lot easier
