Immediately Recognizable unique 1-of-a-kind Guitar (image-logo..etc..)

Well I had to use this strange worn to hell and back tortoise shell Telecaster Pickgaurd at a gig last week cause my black 5-hole Bakelight pickgaurd one was on another axe,

But I noticed something happened…when I finished the set, The Room was more receptive to me and wanted to talk more, nearly every table and section from the front of the stage to the very back of the bar stopped me and chatted, some were very curious about the guitar.

I put the Black pickgaurd on and played another gig, and no one talked to me..??

This could be a “Ka-wink-a-dink” but I think I just stay with this Look and see what happens..

It may be a smart move because of pictures and press local Rag’s and the papers and once in a while news cams..and cable TV stuff..

Even if ya’ don’t ever remember my face or my name,
One things for sure You’ll never forget this ugly bastard Telecaster… !!!

And for that Its staying on1

I’ll never be mistaken for another one of the hundred regular Joe with a regular Tele,

This sucker is going to stand out…
It may be ugly as all get out—but it’s worth it weight in gold is what I’m thinking..

If something works, I usually don't question it. I just go with it. It seems to me that there are some things that work despite your best guess. I would go with it. If nothing else, the mental edge of thinking that it's a benefit can't be a bad thing.

I really wonder if the average audience is paying that much attention, but you'll never figure that out by asking the question to a room full of guitar players.

That looks great man, and I agree it's hard to change something when it obviously catches attention. My strat has sparked a few conversations since I changed it over from a "standard" S-S-S layout.

Dang, Rev, that guard is worn to hell. But it gives the guitar so much character, almost like it's saying "listen to the stories I have to tell" and everyone wants to listen.

The ONLY time I ever had a woman (let's face it, they are the reason I play guitar!) ever come up to me at a gig and say 'nice guitar' was when I used my Buddy Guy Signature Polka Dot Strat. All the years I played my palin old Tele no-one ever said that. There's something to be said for having an axe that'll please people who matter, as well as the guitar-geeks like us.

(By the way I ended up stripping the paint of that Strat. D'oh!)
Wound 'G' strings keep me sane.
