Default If you could have your pick of ESPs...

My gf just got back from her parents houe and mentioned to me that her brother, who has an endorsement with ESP Guitars, has offered me a free guitar if I'd like it. Now, I'm not likely to acually take him up on the offer, because I know that despite that endorsement, he's by no means rolling in cash and he sells those free instruments to help supplement his other incomes (most of which is office temp work), but it still has got me eyeing the ESP catalog and dreaming.

So if you could take your pick from ESP, what would YOU get? Me, I like this one:

Since I wouldn't be paying for it I wouldn't be greedy, I'd just get an ESP LTD AX-400

On second thoughts after looking through some on the net just then... I suggest if you do take him up on the offer you get the one you posted above, looks sweet.

I do like that one. Reminds me of my '51.

If I got that semi-hollow with the Bigsby, I'd either put those DiMarzio Eric Johnson pups in it or a set of TV'trons.

I'm also tempted by their Viper series. I haven't seen a P90=equipped one, though, and that's what I'd want in an SG.

My friend has that in red and it's simply delightful. You can't tell if you're playing a Tele or an SG.

A couple of years ago i would've said this:

But now i think i'm feelin this:

I definitely want something mahagoney with a set neck...EMGs i'll take or leave.

The George Lynch Skulls & Snakes signature model. That's the only ESP I'd want.

Can I ask what band he is in, and how big they are?

    I'd go with the Viper-407, but I play 7 strings . For 6's, I'd snag a MH1000 or One of those 25 anniversary F's.

a white ex-400 to match my black ex-351, a 25th anniversary viper, or the faded black eclipse standard (going progressively up in price)

Actual ESP, or just an ltd?

I like the M-II/M1000 with the reverse headstocks the best, the MH400 coming in 2nd after that style.

They do. They actually sell them here with excellent quality and very comparative prices.

Me, I'd probably go for a full-blown custom if possible. We are talking about ESPs, right? Not those LTDs?

If full custom is not allowed, I'd probably take one of Lynch axes, the M-II Urban camo or maybe M-II custom or something similar. It's weird that we're talking about a free axe, there is a price scale from 1500€ to 5500€ with the ESPs here.

if i could have anything from the sp programm i'd probably pick the Esp Tom Araya sig bass. This thing looks sweet and already the LTD model sounded great when i played it once. Guitarwise i'm not so much interrested but somehow i dig the hetfield truckster.
