No Custom Shop stuff, I assume, but any of the normal ESP and LTD models are open.

If that is the case, I'd stay away from the Xtones. They're a cheaper model. I'd probably just get something as expensive as possible! If no CS pieces, maybe a Horizon with a FM top and a FR trem. Yes, that does sound nice! I almost bought one last summer, but opted for a M-II instead. And yes, it is an excellent piece of craftsmanship.

If you feel bad for taking one, pay way under the normal price. That way, your friend gets money, and you still get a good deal!

If they had upscale versions of the Xtone models, you'd have a point. But they don't.

As for the particular model and spec you reccomend, I can only say that I have very, very different tastes than you.

Well, can you get a Vintage plus? A really nice strat, that is. Or a Ron Wood sig tele. Both ought to be really nice axes. Second thoughts right now, I'd probably go for the Vintage plus too!

My friend has that in red and it's simply delightful. You can't tell if you're playing a Tele or an SG.

A couple of years ago i would've said this:

But now i think i'm feelin this:

I definitely want something mahagoney with a set neck...EMGs i'll take or leave.

I think, if I do it, I'll definitely be going with that blonde Xtone. I wish that it, like a couple of the cheaper Xtone models, were an all-maple body, but I can probably talk mahogany w/ maple cap into twanging for me. A little, at least.

I'm with Big Black, those tele-style ESP's are cool looking guitars. My girlfriend's brother told me he wanted one, but he wants one of everything.
