I played the semi-hollow version of that guitar and was blown away. I can't vouch for the quality of that model but the semi-hollow was close to perfect and cheap!!

G&L's are fantastic guitars....Leo Fender was involved with the company and he really got the chance to one-up the classic Fender designs.

With the exchange rate it's hard for me to tell you whether it's a bargain or not.

I don't know about guitars but with the basses I would try to avoid the "Tribute" models as they are the cheaper versions and I do notice a difference in the two american and foreign versions with the basses.

BUT if you can try to find a dealer and try one asit may be a real beauty in your hands.. if not though I say hang in there and get the Real handmade G&L.

$650 AUD is about $450 american. What you think? I would prolly put in some SD after some time, and I've been wanting a tele lately. If i bought this I prolly wouldn't be able to buy my godin signature lg though.... Do you think its worth it, I have played the godin sig lg and its an awsome guitar, on the other hand I love teles and if this is good value... It may be worth it. I really value all your opinions, so could you put yourself in my position and choose btween the 2 guitars. If i got the godin it cost me $1750 and I'd buy new. Thanks

I can only vouch for my experience with my buddy's G&L ASAT Classic Tele. Great guitar for the $, lots of attention to detail and good quality hardware.

G&L's are great axes. Leo was oft quoted as saying he thought he'd gotten a lot better at stuff as he got older. Most of us, in fact, do.
