Question I did it, but will I be happy?

I just ordered a Duncan Distortion. I'm using it to replace a JB (bridge) in my ESP Eclipse (not LTD). The reason I was replacing the JB is because it's mid spike is a little misplaced sounding to me, and the bass isn't tight enough. Also, when clean the JB sounds a little thin to me, but that could be b/c it's counter part in the neck is my '59, which is pretty thick in comparision. The Custom and Distortion were both recommened to me as replacements for the JB, and after reading some product reviews and scrutinizing over the sound clips on the main site here (which is really difficult I'll have you know), I went with the Distortion.

I'll let you guys know what I think when I get it in.

I think you'll like it. My feeling is that the JB sounds great in the right guitar. Some guitars it has a definite mid spike. The Distortion is like JB's bigger brother, they are the same pup except the DD has a ceramic magnet instead of an Alnico 5. Definitely bigger thump on the bottom. I like them both. If you don't like it, you'll not have a problem unloading it. They're popular.

I once played a distortion in an early 90's Les Paul Studio which was really warm sounding and I thought it was the thinnest most icepicky pickup I'd ever heard. Hopefully you'll have more luck.

I think the custom might have been what you were looking for.

The results and posts are too close. I'm going to cry.

I can always swap for a custom once I get it. People change pickups here like I change socks.
