It will only go up in price.

awesome!

that was a very cool story ... man, she'd lost her Mom and Dad by the time she was 5.
here's a good quote:
that darn guitar is bona fide !!!"Two months ago, they stopped by Dietze Music House in downtown Lincoln, still in the same building.
They asked for the guitar guy. They showed him photos of the guitar.
Wow, Sandy remembers him saying. Who do you want to have this?
A country star, Sandy told him.
He gave them a name of a Nashville appraiser. The Nashville guy looked at photos and offered to sell it for her, for a share.
Can you sell it to a country star?
Naw, he said. They’re too cheap to pay what this guitar is worth."![]()

It's cool there's an appreciation for that kind of stuff. When I first got into guitar collecting, you could find a cool 50s LP Junior for $500. Those days are long gone. But even the not so desirable guitars that are "old" are considered "vintage" just because of their age.Originally Posted by Wattage

Some ****** of a dealer probably bought it & will separate the pair & make a mint!!!!
Good for her though....I'm glad she got some good dough!
Brian Moore i1p.13/Line 6 HD-500/Alesis M1 Active 320 USB Studio Monitors/Macbook

the "Nashville Expert" which is code for George Gruhn, I'm sure, hit the nail right on the head.......no country star is going to pay that kind of money.......very few,if any players will......unless they are also collectors and that guitar would never see the stage and probably not even the inside of a studio.......note that it was sold to a "collector from California". Lets be real.......as a player, is this guitar any better thatn some of the stuff coming out of the various custom shops of Gibson, Fender, Gretsch, etc? Even if it had a Brazialian board, that can be had and not just stumpwood....i have some old growth sticks myself that i use for knife handles. These guitars are only for collectors nowadays because players can get pretty much the same guitar for $2-3k.

I heard that it is a factory refin, an older one but a refin nonetheless and the buyer is freaking out, ooohhh that would suck.

I suppose that it's possible it's a refin, but there's nothing in that article that suggests that.
Plus, it said the original owner was driving out to CA to deliver the guitar.

We'll see what happens?
Curly is that a Wandre in your avatar?
