They don't seem to mention anything about re Crowning the frets ? That's O.K I have a crowning file and a dremel w/t a buffing wheel. I like the Idea of leveling with the guitar tuned to pitch. Takes some of the guess work out of it for someone doesn't do this stuff everyday (i.e.) :cough: not a trained Pro.

Good Answer! I got one coming my way. So I will report back the amount of suckage. Still got to take the strings off to crown and polish. Lets see if they mention that lil' tidbit?

A lot cheaper then the Stewmac thing that clamps a neck in the same curve as when it's tuned to pitch.... The part i do not understand about fret leveling with the neck under tention is what about the curve that all guitars should have to help the strings ring true? If you sand the neck's fret tops flat with the string tention on how good of relief would be left....

still i have not had any trouble sanding my frets with common radius blocks and a few files.... some sand paper... All these special tools sound great but get expensive... This tool is pretty cheap but i don't think it works as well as they would like

Best fret dress i have done so far was done with a .34x.34 x 8 inch piece of MDF.... I just used double sided masking tape and stuck some 220 sand paper on it and leveled the frets with it.... Being careful not to change the radius much..... i did flatten out the fret tops in the middle of the higher frets so it was more like a compound radius..... Only special tool i used was a crowning file... it worked great and that guitar plays better then any other i own.....

It´ll be interesting to read KMC´s review.... but for now I´ll stick to my 3 files, steel wool, and steel straightedge

I will stick to real tools that do the job correctly! I can think of many different problems using that thing could cause. It would be OK for a few "special uses" though! Not to level the whole damn thing though!
