And how much would you guys pay for it USED?
Thanks!

Im pretty sure it's a solid top. Depending on condition you could probably find a used one for $450-550.

Cool...
Btw, if the "Diamond Series" is printed perpendicular to the "Schecter" on the headstock, instead of being parallel and directly below the "Schecter", is that an older model? If yes, would it have the same specs?
Thanks again!

I'm not positive, but if 'Diamond Series' is parallel (on the C1 classic) Id say its an older model. I couldnt really say about the specs though.Originally Posted by fretburner

It's a veneer. I've contacted Schecter before and they said all the C series guitars have a veneer except the C-1 Exotic.

If you're at all unsure, contact Schecter directly. On the phone, they've been extremely friendly and helpful to me.

I've emailed them already and they haven't responded yet.Originally Posted by wildstar

I owned one, it was a veneer.

Whoa! I guess the Ibanez SZ is a better choice then.Originally Posted by DeadSkinSlayer3
How so? It has a shorter scale and worse pickups.
I prefer how the Schecters play, too.

Hmm... shorter scale = worse?
Thats subjective...

yeah...i love the LP's short scale...Originally Posted by Kindred_Spirits
but yeah, it's got worse pickups... but saving a little more for "real" duncans, then it's supposed to sound better right?
the one thing i really hate about the ibanez SZ though is that tiny switch...

You'd probably want to put some real Duncans in the Schecter anyways, right? Better and more customized pickups would do wonders for either model guitar. And a tiny switch could always be replaced on the SZ. I think it's a toss-up.
Maybe color, or scale preference, or neck shape/size will determine it for you. I love the SZ guitars AND Schecters. Still thinking about an SZ I once played... mmm, tasty.

The C-1 Classic comes with real Duncans, JB/Jazz combo to be exact...I thought this was mentioned already? Anyway, the Classic is also a neck-thru while the Ibanez SZ is a set neck. I'd take a Schecter over an Ibanez any day of the week.

Sorry - my mistake. Was thinking of the C-1 Plus.

The SZ does play nicely, my friend has the 520 and it's an awesome guitar, I wish it had 24 frets but considering how nicely it plays that's not a really huge deal.

Outside the pups... why would u choose a C1 classic over an SZ?Originally Posted by Lee_L
I actually prefer some of the other models over the Classic, but I've been wanting to give them another shot. I just prefer the feel, sound, hardware, and looks of Schecter over Ibanez.Originally Posted by fretburner

Good point... the feel... I haven't really held one... but I've tried some SZs and they feel solid...Originally Posted by Lee_L
And yeah, I guess tone pros would be better than those gibraltars?
