I wouldnt compromise. If it came with those flaws I'd send it back, but that's just me. I like perfection.........or as close as possible.

I'd send it back. That's too much of an issue for spending $2k on one, especially when you expected to get a recent model, at least a late 2005. A 335 to me needs to be black or red, preferably red.

Sent it back, I'll wait 'til it shows up in the outlet at M123 with a discount... I already have my pack of steel wool ready![]()

Yes you did. Very much against the grain of your sig too.Originally Posted by Davey

Saw the pictures -- I thought you said it didn't have flame. It's not exactly a "flaming" flame top but it's not plaintop either.
In 1861 as the Confederate forces were about to fire on Fort Sumter, the blue and gray had infinitely more in common than the blue and red today. What fellowship can "the truth shall set you free" ever have with "there is no truth, only points of view", or "what is truth?"
Secession would be a horror. But barring a major national crisis like a Black Death magnitude epidemic or nuclear attack to erase once and for all the myth that truth is negotiable, it is coming.

it's got that sweet spot between, being plain and having annoying flame (i hate it when they have too much flame).Originally Posted by Zhangliqun

I would be less concerned with the rust than the gouged up fretboard you have there. That is completely unacceptable in my book. I would send it back because of that issue alone.

Gouged? That's rosewood. It's supposed to look like that without a thick finish, or any finish for that matter.

After seeing the pic BB posted, I'm gonna say send it back. Gibson should be ashamed of themselves.

Look at the wood on either side of the frets. The gouges that run parallel to the frets are what I'm talking about. It's very common with recent Gibsons, but completely unacceptable in my opinion.Originally Posted by ErikH

Oh, those gouges. Yeah, that's crap. Freakin' fretting machine is going too low. They're not put in by hand anymore.
If it were me, Jason, I'd send it back just on principle. Thats alot of cash!!

Geez, I’m surprised he’s even considering keeping it at all. I’d want my $2,000 back. I’d be very upset over this guitar showing up like that. And yeah, look at those gouges! What the hell is that all about? $2000? Please. This isn’t the last 335 on earth. Get your money back, dude – at least for my sake so I’ll know that you didn’t get “sticked” with this crap.
And so music123 said they’d shell out whopping $25 to help pay for the repair? The repair of a “new” $2000 guitar? Are you sure they’re not over-compensating with that amount? $25 seems a little much to just give away…
Please, send it back.
i thought it over...send it back and buy the guitar i just sent you a PM about
-Mike
I just found out that the last 2 gtrs I bought were not new either. I've been bamboozled!!!

I'd definately send it back. It's poor quality control that Gibson send out guitars with fretting machine gouges and a disgrace that a vendor takes $2K off you for a guitar that plainly hasn't been set up. Personally, if thats Gibsons idea of quality workmanship, they can stick it and I'd go and save a stack by buying an Edwards or similar.![]()
