    Default P-90 questions

Can a SD vintage P-90 in the neck of a LP STudio do Jazz, with tone rolled off?

And what are the best vol/tone pots for P-90's. Thinking about the PRS Vintage-n/Custom-n thing. I want to play Jazz off of the neck, blues from neck or bridge, and rock/scorching blues on the bridge...

'jazz'...as in a legit hard bop tone? No.
I can get a decent faux swing tone out of an R6 or a Martino kinda thing with big strings (like .014), but it doesn't really cut it overall; too hot, too muddy, too much metal, too much sustain. Doesn't mean you can't do it, but it's not going to sound like Joe Pass or Wes.

Stock compliment for vintage Gibson P90 guitars are 500K volume and tone, .022 tone caps. Post 1973; 300K.
