Default Clips of my old band (rock/power pop)

It's about time I posted something here. Please have a listen to these two songs recorded by my former band HorseOfCourse back in 2002.

    Airsick
    Pretty Girl

I do all the guitar, except for one little bit right after the second chorus of Airsick which the bass player decided to throw in. I also do lead vox on Airsick. Guitars were my H/S/S Strat on both, and some of my Tele on Airsick. I recorded all my parts using the record out on my Mesa DC-3 into the soundcard on my PC. Software back then was Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd either mic the DC-3, go direct with the POD, or some combination of both. Back then, I had limited resources though, so please excuse the quality.

Anyway, I think they're both pretty good rock tunes, so let me know what you think. Someday I'll get around to posting something recent.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the tone on either. Like I said, our resources were limited back then. If I could re-do the guitar tracks today, they would sound 100 times better, thanks to the Pod XT.

cool man! sounds lyke a fun band to be in.

nyce tones & appropriate plying. Sounds lyke u could have cut out a bit of the low frequencies in the distorted sound to make it less boomy.
u still got a pretty good sound outta going direct from the Mesa. I messed around w/ going direct from my Mark IV once & hated it. Sterile lyke a pot seed smoka.

Thanks! It was super fun to be in while it was going strong. Everyone was dedicated and having a blast, and Ian (the lead singer on Pretty Girl and bass on both) is a gifted pop songwriter. We just kind of grew out of it I think.

There are a lot of things about the guitar tones and the mix that I'm not fond of ... I mainly posted it because I dig the tunes. Still, I think we did a pretty good job.
